So many top contenders have made this their home field at one point or another, from rookie to pro. I decided to take some time to stop by Sunday July 5th, after all the firework smoke had settled, to check up on my hommies that are still out there Grinding every Sunday. It's all about Sunday.

Thank you to Mike Hinman and Aftermath for taking So Cal Paintball to a new level. After 5 years of playing countless Pan AM's and XPSL's regional events... I thought that nothing would be able to replace the now defunct league. Luckily, I retired from playing when the leagues fell. However, Mike and "theMath" have provided a league that will ultimately surpass the prior leagues as the Premiere West Coast regional event.
The Reffing was great. You didn't hear many complaints from teams. I love that the officials were all either very experienced refs or they were veteran players. The respect shown for the officials was better than I've seen at most events. In any sport, when the players respect the officials, GAMES RUN SMOOTHLY!
I had a great time shooting at this event. There was a great media presence, with Paintball Media Greats like Matt Dawson and Michael Wise, and Media Giant MAKE IT TO SUNDAY. I also want to recognize some of the others who were dedicating their time to the sport:

The 3rd Annual Toys 4 Tots Tournamnet was held this past Sunday at Hollywood Sports Park in Bellflower CA. The event employed profesional referees as well as volunteers. Players donated a gift ($25 value min) to gain entry into the event. There seemed to be more toys than players, so even in these tough times the paintball players felt the holiday spirit. The event organizers seemed to "one-up" themselves from a very successful event last year. There were a total of 32 teams in two divisions, Rookie and Open which is twice the amount of teams that they had last year.
Keepitsquare.com was there to show it's support. I want to take a second to thank the organizers for coordinating such a great event and for letting us be a part of it! Most importantly I want to thank the players for their generocity in these tough times.

Monday, December 1, 2008 at 02:00AM What a difference a week makes! This week the Compound didn't make me pay to shoot. So... I'm in MUCH better spirits about the park. We've kissed and made up so now I was able to spend a few hours with some of my favorite ballers. I want to say that this was the best showing of Square One at any field to date. Thanks you all for the support. If you weren't able to get any stickers or pics, please hit me up next time we run into each other and I'll do everything I can to oblige. Enough bullshit...

Sorry that I had to leave early, but the savage bitches at the Compound tried to charge me to take pics of you beasts on the Xball field. I wasn't having that. SO I PEACE'D OUT EARLY. Mostly I want to give a shout out to Alan Tiqui, Kimo and all the LegionMOB Crew! You guys are my family, my heroes and my friends. I wouldn't want to go to battle with anyone else!
